Donna Nizolek, DVM
Dr. Donna Nizolek has retired!
Dr. Donna Nizolek has retired after practicing veterinary medicine for over four decades.
Dr. Nizolek and her husband Dr. Joe Nizolek opened the Community Animal Hospital in 1984, and she often uses the word family when talking about the practice. Converting the little brick ranch house into a veterinary clinic was a family endeavor and relied on the hard work and talents of parents, siblings, and close friends. The new practice was named in recognition of the families and community it was designed to serve. She notes that one of the pleasures of being a rural veterinarian is that her work with some families - human and canine - has spanned generations. Donna smiles when she admits that she thinks of the Hospital as her "first child", and those doctors, nurses, and receptionists who have worked together for many years feel like a close family.
Dr. Donna is grateful to have been able to practice for so many years and to make so many wonderful friends in the community. She will tell you that there is no better profession than veterinary medicine. "It is deeply rewarding, intellectually challenging, and never boring. Best of all, you get to spend your days with animals and the people who love them."
She looks forward to having more leisure time at home with her husband and their two dachshunds. Her horse will now get ridden almost every day! Donna and Joe are planning some trips, especially to New Mexico and London where their children reside.
Help us wish her the very best after a long and rewarding career.
